After losing her mom to cancer at a young age, Gemini Adams discovered that a typical inheritance doesn’t give surviving family, especially children, the on going loving support they really need.
Now as a multiple award-winning author and grief expert, she explains that our real “wealth” lies not in our Financial Assets, but our Emotional Assets: the values, memories, lessons, voice, image, wisdom and affections that we capture and share through a loving legacy.
Gemini and I will be discussing her triple award-winning book, Your Legacy of Love to help all of us realize this amazing gift!
Please call 347.327.9995 on Tuesday August 24th from 10-11am U.S. CT to join Gemini and I live on the air with your questions and personal stories.
So what does it mean to be “black” or “white” in America today? Is it something that can really be defined? And, if so, what exactly would those racially-defining characteristics be?
Mishna Wolff, a former model and a humorist tackles this question with humor, intelligence and style in her national bestselling book, I’m Down.
It is essentially the story of Mishna’s childhood growing up in a poor black neighborhood as a white girl being raised by her single father, a white man who truly believed he was black. “He strutted around with a short perm, a Cosbyesqe sweater, gold chains, and a Kangol – telling jokes like Redd Foxx, and giving advice like Jesse Jackson.”
Unfortunately, she didn’t quite fit in with the neighborhood kids: she couldn’t dance, she couldn’t sing, she couldn’t double Dutch, and she was the worst player on her all-black basketball team. And yet when she was suddenly sent to a rich white school, she found she was too “black” to fit in with her white classmates.
Mishna and I will be discussing her memoirI’m Down – a hilarious look at what it means to be black and white in America!

As a special treat for the last show of 2009 with Christmas just days away followed by the New Year, FMMK Talk Radio is glad to honor all the Blended Families in America and the World. Our show theme for this week is “A Blended Family Holiday – Challenges and Rewards.”
What is a blended family? A blended family is when two adults marry or live together, and one or both adults bring children from a previous relationship into the new marriage or living arrangement. They “blend” the two families into one new family.
Regardless of how much abundance of love that is in this new family, ultimately there will always be times and situations that would require just a little bit more love and understanding from everyone to ensure the survival and success of this new union.
Joining me to talk about this wonderful, challenging, and rewarding experience is Shirley Cress Dudley; a Licensed Professional Counselor from Charlotte, North Carolina. Shirley has two masters’ degrees; one in marriage and family counseling, and the other in education. She is also a part of a blended family herself, and is raising 2 children and 3 stepchildren with her husband Eric.
Over the years I have learned from my 9 moms that in order for me to truly experience and appreciate unconditional love, I, on the receiving end must consciously allow myself to be loved.
Please call 347.327.9995 to join Shirley and I live on the air Tuesday 12/22/09 from 10-11 am US CST as we discuss the various opportunities and solutions to truly experience a very rewarding Blended Family Holiday.

My guest for this week will be Paul Wedding a Best Selling Author, Radio Talk Show Host and Public Speaker.
In the spirit of this holiday season, he has a very interesting story to share about his personal encounter with “God” that transformed his life forever, which he shares in his bestselling book “If You Only Knew What You Already Know.”
Paul in his own words, was a “con man, thief, cheat, and a liar.” He called home a dumpster in Westminster, California; lived in garages, and was addicted drugs, alcohol, sex, and gambling.
On April 19, 2003 at 12:37 pm, his life changed. While standing in the kitchen of his mother’s home, he felt a presence overcome him. This presence had no voice, nor was it a religious conversation taking place. It was GOD.
She is a graduate of University of Texas in Austin, and has lived in Southern California, New Mexico, New Jersey, Texas and Puerto Rico. Kelley has also traveled and studied aboard in England, France, and Canada.
As a woman and a working mom, Kelley said that she understands how important the “Kitchen” is in any home and especially during the holiday season!
Please call 347.327.9995 to join Kelley and I live on the air Tuesday 11/10/09 from 10-11 am US CST as we discuss her life’s journey, the history of kitchens, kitchen designs and makeovers, and getting your kitchen ready for the holidays!
